1-11-22   THOUGHTS

One of the powerful and popular psalms is the 23rd Psalm.   We need to return to it often.  In just 6 verses, the whole of man (a least that which matters) is contemplated.  With the Lord as Shepherd and me as the sheep, GOOD ASSURING things are noted.     THE SHEPHERD RESTORES and  GUIDES, He FEEDS and ANOINTS.   I WANT TO BE A GOOD SHEEP!   I want to dwell in the house of the Lord forever! HIS ENDURING LOVING KINDNESS is mine!

Ps 23:1-6    The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want. 2  He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. 3  He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. 4  Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. 5  You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; My cup overflows. 6  Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

Ps 40:10-11  I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart; I have spoken of Your faithfulness and Your salvation; I have not concealed Your lovingkindness and Your truth from the great congregation.  11  You, O LORD, will not withhold Your compassion from me; Your lovingkindness and Your truth will continually preserve me.
Ps 42:8    The LORD will command His lovingkindness in the daytime; And His song will be with me in the night,  A prayer to the God of my life.
Ps 106:1    Praise the LORD! Oh give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; For His lovingkindness is everlasting.
Ps 119:88    Revive me according to Your lovingkindness, So that I may keep the testimony of Your mouth.
Jer 31:3   The LORD appeared to him from afar, [saying,] "I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore I have drawn you with lovingkindness.
Read Psalms 136

Acts 2:36     "Therefore let all the house of Israel know for certain that God has made Him both Lord and Christ  — this Jesus whom you crucified."
1John 3:18-19     Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth. 19  We will know by this that we are of the truth, and will assure our heart before Him

My Prayer:
Father God, our desire is to dwell with you forever.  The assurances that are in Christ Jesus are beyond our comprehension. We praise you and thank you for choosing us in Jesus. Thank you that we are your purchased possession.  May we speak of your loving kindness in our lives and with our lips.  Thank you for the blessed assurance that is in Jesus.
In the name of our Lord      Amen
